ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – The search continues for a convicted child sex offender who escaped from Mercy South Hospital early Thursday morning.Local, state, and federal authorities are working to find Tommy Wayne Boyd. Boyd, 45, is serving a 30-year sentence at the Potosi Correctional Center for statutory sodomy. He’d been taken to Mercy South for an undisclosed treatment.Boyd walked out of the main entrance at the hospital here shortly before 4 a.m.Authorities said Boyd was in the custody of two state corrections officers when he escaped. Westbound Interstate 70 is back open through Glenwood Canyon after a four-vehicle crash closed the roadway for more than an hour, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation and Colorado State Patrol.The crash was reported at 1:35 p.m. between the Bair Ranch and Hanging Lake exits, seven miles east of No Name. A business professor and real estate attorney at some of the city’s top firms has been barred from practicing law for 30 months because she carried on a years-long lie.Cindy Lowery-Graber, who has been a lawyer in Colorado since 2002, was working in the Denver office of international firm Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner in summer 2015 when she was introduced to a client who was having issues with the title of their home.She determined that a quiet title action — litigation used for simple property disputes — was the best route. The new owner of The Shops at Northfield plans to close a portion of the street that runs through the open-air mall.A consulting firm working on behalf of Los Angeles-based Stockdale Capital Partners, which purchased the mall in early 2022, proposed the change in a document sent this month to Denver’s planning department.“The updated site experience will allow pedestrians to freely walk from one building to another safely while having the option to enjoy a variety of amenities throughout the site,” said Jim Shipton of Point Consulting. “With the existing road proposed as being blocked off to general vehicular traffic, it will help create a stronger community and help businesses that are within.”The road in question is Main Street between 47th and 48th streets, which is flanked by various mall buildings occupied by retailers such as H&M, Sephora and Bath & Body Works.Stockdale owns the street itself. A Bakersfield man was convicted of attempted murder months after attacking his sleeping son with a sledgehammer in Ventura County, officials announced Thursday.Anthony Nardini, 42, was found guilty of three counts, including attempted murder, aggravated mayhem and assault with a deadly weapon. The jury also found true special allegations of use of a deadly weapon and causing great bodily injury in commission of a felony, according to the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office.The incident occurred on March 19, when Nardini and his 24-year-old son, who had recently reconnected after being estranged, were staying with family in an unincorporated area near Simi Valley.The two had been in a physical argument that had to be broken up by family members, officials said.Nardini at one point left the home in his truck, but later returned while the victim was asleep on the couch. Authorities are looking to the public for help in finding a man who has been missing for a month. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, Robert Gutierrez, 53, was last seen near the 800 block of East 89th Street in the Green Meadows neighborhood of L.A. around 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 21. Gutierrez is described as a Hispanic male with brown hair and brown eyes. He is listed as being 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighing approximately 150 pounds. California Attorney General Rob Bonta announced Thursday that a lawsuit has been filed against Heartbeat International, a national anti-abortion group, and RealOptions Obria, a chain of five crisis pregnancy centers in Northern California, for promoting an experimental procedure called “abortion pill reversal.”The lawsuit alleges that the two organizations “used fraudulent and misleading claims” to advertise the procedure as being a “safe and effective way to reverse a medication abortion,” when in reality, that’s not the case. With the lawsuit, Bonta seeks to block the two organizations from “falsely advertising APR as a safe and effective” procedure, a news release said.
