(KRON) -- A solo vehicle collision was reported Wednesday afternoon, according to the San Rafael Police Department (SRPD). The crash happened around 1 p.m. at the intersection of Freitas Parkway and Northgate Drive.The unidentified driver of the four-door sedan was possibly suffering from a medical emergency, SRPD said. CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) — Oregon State athletic director Scott Barnes was released Wednesday from the hospital where he had been receiving care since having a serious medical event while attending an award ceremony at Fresno State last weekend.Barnes, 60, had been treated at Saint Agnes Medical Center in Fresno, California, since Saturday night. He had been moved out of the intensive care unit to cardio recovery on Tuesday.“The Barnes family is beyond grateful for the love, prayers and support shown to them by Beaver Nation and beyond,” Barnes said in a statement.Barnes is a former Fresno State basketball player and was at the school to receive an award Saturday night. DENVER (KDVR) — Colorado lawmakers are sorting through controversial legislation as they race toward the end of the session. In the Senate Health and Human Services committee Wednesday afternoon, a bill that would allow cities to open so-called "overdose prevention" sites failed to pass, with lawmakers voting 6-3 to postpone the bill indefinitely. The bill would have allowed cities and towns to create overdose prevention centers, or supervised use sites where drugs could be tested for fentanyl and people could get counseling and connect to treatment. Rent control bill fails in committee It cleared the House floor back on March 11. Hours of testimony were heard on it last Thursday, which was 4/20.Lawmakers took it up for action only on Wednesday.
